Very happy with our new units. They look impeccable. Very professional and friendly service was provided. The whole process was quick and painless- contacted the company by email, got a quote, arranged a visit by the representative, set a date for the installation and paint. Done. Was pleased with the price as well which was worth every penny for the quality of the work. I already had a few wows from friends and neighbours. Would definitely recommend this company.

Our experiences with this company were a bit mixed. The sales team was friendly and professional, and we were also happy with the carpenters. However, we had some issues with the painter, both with regards to the quality of his work and his attitude and communication. Contrary to what we were promised, the painter initially rushed through with his work within 2.5 days for four two-door alcove bookcases without much attention to detail. We had to complain about the quality of his work twice, work that he should have done properly straightaway himself. He kept saying that he is only being paid for basic quality so that we should accept well over 20 different problematic areas of patches of paints, scratches, brush marks and areas that were poorly or not painted properly at all. With an agreed price of over £1000 per two-door alcove bookcase, this was unacceptable. With Jeff and George getting involved, we are now satisfied with the final result although the process that has led to this result was quite cumbersome. The quality is now good. Except for the painter, the quality of the professional service provided by JV Carpentry is good as well.

We would absolutely agree with all of the positive reviews previously listed. JV have been a gem of a find for our carpentry needs. We had some built-in wardrobes and a bookcase made and couldn't be happier with the results. Everything, from start to finish, was handled superbly. Very good value against other quotes and the quality of the work is impeccable. The guys who handled the build and paint jobs were extremely tidy too. Highly recommended and we will definitely use them again for future projects.

JV Carpentry were professional and helpful from start to finish - I was wary of relying on internet reviews, but other personally recommended people had let me down... But in fact I needn't have worried. George helped to refine the ideas I had for designs, and made recommendations which were good advice. There were 4 very separate sets of cupboards / shelves in one project - some very customised - and all built and finished to a high standard within the quite tight timescale I needed, and at a reasonable price. The team of carpenters and painters who came to install them worked really hard (in the very hot summer), and were as clean and tidy as possible. I love the work the JV Carpentry team did and couldn't be more pleased.

I used JV for a large bookcase/tv cupboards in my lounge and a shoe cupboard in our porch. They were very very good and their guys worked very hard to complete the build all in one day on site! Their painter came afterwards and did a great job as well.
I would thoroughly recommend.

We are really pleased with our new fitted bookcase and floating alcove shelves. George was excellent throughout with communication and Jeff made sure we were completely happy with the design drawings. The carpenters came to build and fit the furniture on site - they were truly astonishing! They covered everything in the rooms to protect them from dust and damage and they worked so hard to get everything completed in just one day! They were so polite and friendly. The painter then followed, visiting for three consecutive long days of painting. At the end, when we noticed a few small areas where the paint finish needed improvement, he was more than willing to return and worked tirelessly until we were happy. Again, a lovely polite friendly man. JV Carpentry have been a delight to deal with at every stage of the process and we would definitely use them again.

JV built a large bookcase and 8 floating shelves for us in Wimbledon. The bookcase and shelves were constructed in one day and then painted over three days. We're really pleased with the final product - the quality of the work and finish are excellent. We found the JV staff very pleasant to deal with throughout the project. The building and painting staff were hard-working and professional and George/Jeff also responded quickly to any queries. All in all, I would highly recommend JV Carpentry for any carpentry project and would definitely use them again in the future.

JV Carpentry did a great job making a double cupboard for my bedroom in South London. The build was done quickly in 1 day and then carefully painted over 3 days. The room was left perfectly tidy and clean after and I am delighted with my cupboard - the quality is very high. George was very responsive and helpful in planning the work.

I highly recommend JV Carpentry. Jeff and his team were professional and efficient from start to finish. George arrived promptly to quote for us, Jeff designed exactly what we had requested in the plans for our units - even incorporating a late change, which would have been inconvenient to him, without any complaint and being helpful throughout - and our fitted wardrobe and cupboards/shelving units were constructed quickly without any mess and to a very high standard. We are thrilled with the results.

I got in touch with Jeff from JV Carpentry WAY before I could actually afford to get the built in wardrobe I wanted. We were in the process of doing up our first and very dilapidated 1930's home and I just needed to know a ballpark figure so I had a savings goal. Jeff was super patient, broke down all the different costs for me and that was that for about 18 months!
When I finally had enough money to get the ball rolling again I didn't hesitate to get back in touch. Once again the communication was great, George came round to measure up on an evening so it didn't interfere with working hours. I was sent a formal quote based on my spec along with a full technical drawing, and with a few small tweaks we were set!
The workmen came on time, early in the morning and built the whole wardrobe in 1 day, including a set of drawers in the right hand side!
One of the reasons I wanted a built in was to take advantage of some extra space behind an awkward narrow chimney breast but also wanted the join to be seamless. From the outside it looks like a normal full height double wardrobe but on the inside the left hand wardrobe is actually about 30cm wider as it tucks behind the chimney. Jeff had given me the option of either boarding up the gap that would be left between the wardrobe and chimney - then painting to look like the rest of the wardrobe. Or plasterboard, skim and replacing the skirting and picture rail then painting to make the join 'invisible' and just an extension of the wall. I opted for the latter which cost an extra £100 and was definitely the right call - its impossible to tell where the join is now!
Everything was immaculate and exactly to the spec. The painting team came the following 3 days and did such a beautiful job. They filled joins, sanded and supplied all the paint except the exterior where I wanted a pale grey so I bought that separately.

We are delighted with the alcove units that JV Carpentry fitted for us last week. They were efficient and professional throughout. Their quote was very reasonable compared to the other quote we got, they turned up quickly to do the quote, and their whole team were very nice to deal with. Our units appear very solid and the paint finish is excellent.

Would recommend JV Carpentry.

I contacted a few carpenters to install shelving and cupboards in my lounge alcoves and decided to go with JV Carpentry because of their customer service, politeness and competitive pricing.

When George came to take measurements to give a quotation, he was polite, took his shoes off at the door (not all tradespeople do this!) and answered all our questions. It was easy to book the work in and the correspondence/ease of getting in touch with Jeff was great.

The carpenters / painters again were respectful of my flat and did the work within two days. I was very pleased with the finish and would highly recommend JV Carpentry. The painters even worked a 12 hour day to ensure that the work was finished properly.

After reading many positive reviews about JV Carpentry, my husband and I decided to go with them. And we were not disappointed. The team were friendly, professional, exceptionally hard working and turned up on time every morning to finish the job in four days. We felt comfortable leaving them in our house alone and Andy and Inna did a fantastic job painting the wardrobes once the clever carpenters had finished the instalment. Fast, efficient and more importantly JVC delivered a really good final product. JVC built 4 units / bookshelves for us. They were built quickly by the carpenters and the painters did an excellent job. The units look cool and contemporary. I would definitely use them again.

JV Carpentry provided a very reasonable quote in comparison to the big national wardrobe makers (Hammonds and Sharps). The design was as per the Sharps design and exactly what we asked for. The wardrobes were fitted and painted within about 3-4 weeks of us confirming that we wished to proceed. The carpenters and painters worked hard and we are very pleased with the end result. Thanks!
